Another brilliant advertising campaign tackling the market with a fun and geeky tactic is the Guinness QR Cup.
To be more relevant and spoken about in pubs, Guinness created glasses with hidden messages; they are designed with a QR code that appears once Guinness or any other dark beer fills the glass. Beer drinkers can then scan the code with smartphones, which then gets a Tweet, Facebook status update and a check-in into 4Square. In addition, the QR code scan will retrieve coupons and discounts, invite friends to join and send out Guinness promotions.
