The Good Night and Good Luck table lamp takes the appearance of a bookend—because it is one. However, its form is a bit of an illusion, with a pale rectangular box that mimics the look of a heavy hardcover volume.
This element is actually a closed translucent case that houses LED lights, allowing the piece to operate as an effective means of illumination on a desk, a shelf or on a bedside table. The L-shaped object becomes a lovely little nook for storing novels and more, with a base incorporated to support them.
The flat extended bottom of the blue, black or white acrylic fixtures has a touch sensor integrated. When items are placed upon Tetsuo Takahashi’s Good Night and Good Luck table lamp, the light switches on. It remains off when the panel is clear.
