Gina Trapani is a leading technology specialist and sought-after keynote speaker. She hosts the web show ‘This Week in Google,’ following the company’s progressions. As such an adaptable entrepreneur, she discusses her experience with the long list of cons in correlation to multitasking.
Trapani argues that multitasking can cost us more time than it saves. Switching tasks, or ‘juggling,’ not only takes more time but also extra brain power. When stoping a task to begin another, not only is momentum lost, but focus will slowly diminish. In trying to divide the thinking process, the brain will actually use more energy. By multitasking, both activities will eventually lack quality.
