In this speech, co-founder of the Management Innovation Exchange Gary Hamel discusses the role of leadership.
Leadership roles must begin evolving to better suit the accelerating rate of change in the modern business world. Hamel outlines the revolution of manufacturing and other businesses, noting the managerial practices used.
Hamel sheds light on the slow progression of leader organization. Management tactics are not evolving at the same pace as technology and economics. There is still a ‘legacy view’ of management which is driving our organizations. He boldly states, “change has changed.” Our generation is the first to deal with an acceleration in the rate of change. Our business models must keep this pace to keep world economics in balance.
