Oceanic Crustacean Architecture
This Futuristic Architecture Design Resembles the Sea

By: Emilie Picillo (Superstar) Oct 2, 13
{SummaryTitle}

This piece of futuristic architecture is inspired by the shape of a sea creature; the house is a controversial piece prominently placed at a high elevation to its surroundings. The question is whether it will be beautifully integrated or pop out like a sore eye. The architect, Nick Tsontakis states, “The overall form of the home is reminiscent of a manta ray, even though this was not intentional.”

He wanted to make the house design memorable and simple, organic and livable. The front of the house looks like the face of a manta ray, with the windows acting as eyes and a nose, and the roof curves up at the sides resembling the manta’s wings. The roof of the building is black, while the sides are adorned with aqua marine water pools.
