Trend Hunter has published the work of Russian artist Oleg Duryagin twice before; however, we keep coming across more fascinating images from his fabulous collection called DOU.
Duryagin’s work is up close and very personal, and his main focus is the face from a very close angle. But what makes these digitally-manipulated portrays of people so amazing, and at the same time so shocking, is the lack of human emotion they display, which in turn is made worse by the vapid and absolutely vacant look in their eyes.
“He works mostly on the human figure, and, in particular, the human face,” notes Paintalicious. “This is the object of meticulous investigation and transformation for Duryagin, since his aim is to question post-human identity. All that is flesh goes through a kind of digital metamorphosis; it is erased, smoothed, and rendered to extreme precision.”
