Graphic designer Flora Borsi’s Photoshop in Real Life images depict what the computer edits may look like if they took place on any given day. The menu of drop down tools are applied in a comical manner to the nose, lips, teeth and eyes of her subject.

The Photoshop in Real Life series pokes fun at the surreal ‘Convert to Smart Object’ and ‘Puppet Warp’ options that are so frequently used on the database. While these choices are viable and preferred by countless magazines, newspapers and advertising agencies, Borsi points to just how unrealistic the manipulations are. When placed in this existential context, the contrasts that are commonly drawn between the device and living beings become all the more present.
