In 2010, SocialBusiness.org published a profile on Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant on Westland Place in London. This time around, we’re revisiting the famed celeb chef (do people still say that?) with Fifteen Cornwall, a social enterprise designed to “empower those who deserve a second chance in life,” according to the website.
Essentially, the restaurant doubles as an apprenticeship program in which young people from the ages of 16 to 24 learn the very best in cooking, using nearly all Cornish ingredients.
On the Italian-ish menu, which changes daily, could be anything from sea bass served with purple sprouting broccoli to gnocchi mixed with mascarpone cheese and chanterelle mushrooms. If the social enterprise aspect doesn’t draw you in, well, you won’t really have a choice with the melt-in-your-mouth food.
