Facebook Social Jobs Partnership Facilitates Employment Via Networking

By: Katherine Vong (Superstar) Oct 22, 11

Currently, LinkedIn seems to be the major player when it comes to social media job hunting, but the Facebook Social Jobs Partnership may soon change that.

This partnership is between Facebook and several American job associations—the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), DirectEmployers Association (DE) and the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA). The goal of the partnership is to leverage the recent growth in social media job hunting to provide a social network and resource for unemployed Americans. The Facebook Social Jobs Partnership page will promote government job programs and resources to job seekers; Facebook itself will also help recruiters and government agencies learn to use social media to find job candidates.

Marne Levine, Facebook vice president of Global Public Policy, had this to say about the initiative: “We’ve brought employers, recruiters, college career services and government agencies together to help the millions of Americans who use Facebook find jobs.”
