This thoughtful evolution keynote by Satoshi Kanazawa discusses how far humans have come since the hunter/gatherer stage in Africa. As Satoshi suggests, we haven’t evolved all that much.
Satoshi begins by stating psychologically speaking we haven’t evolved in around ten thousand years. An interesting point Satoshi makes is that our brain has not grasped the concept that we have food readily available and still craves fatty and sugary foods. He also brings up that men still have aggressive characteristics that were necessary when fighting for mates, but such is no longer needed.
As established by this evolution keynote, these primitive functions that humans still retain are suggested to mean we are not far off from our ancestors.
