People-Made Engine Noises
'Domino's Pizza Safe Sound' Had Listeners Laughing

By: Harris Jay Rosenberg Alterman (Star) Apr 19, 12
{SummaryTitle}

‘Domino’s Pizza Safe Sound’ was added to pizza delivery scooters in the Netherlands to give silent scooters some noise. Previously the scooters had been silent which can be dangerous for pedestrians and more importantly other drivers.

This machine produces noises that were made with a human mouth and sound like an accelerating engine with a few funny bits thrown in. The normal “put-put” noise that an engine makes while at a stoplight is now replaced with a man repeating the word “Domino’s” over and over. Every now and again, the engine will yell out the word “pizza” when the scooter begins to accelerate more.

Bikers and people on the street were immediately drawn to the strange noise and Domino’s certainly got their brand name out there with a simple joke.
