The ‘Does Online Dating Work?’ Infographic breaks down the Internet romance industry piece by piece.

While many people turn to their computers to find love, almost all of them lie about themselves. In fact, 81 percent lie about their height, weight or age while putting up a profile picture that is 6 months to a year and a half old. Nevertheless, the industry continues to boom as a number of dating websites rake in the dough. The biggest in the business, Match.com, recorded 105.2 million dollars in one quarter in 2011.

Couples who meet online get married after an average of 18.5 months while other couples take 42 months. Does online dating work? It would appear so.
