Retro Photography Reboots
Digital Tintypes Makes Any Image into a Vintage Metal Keepsake

By: Michael Hemsworth (Superstar) Apr 10, 13

Unless you’ve come across some of them in your attic or seen them at a relatives house, a tintype might be not be familiar. It’s a vintage style of photography that uses a chemical process to burn an image onto a metal plate that has been treated with a series of substances and Digital Tintypes is helping to bring back this process by offering customers the ability to change any image into one.

Digital Tintypes allows customers to create one-of-a-kind keepsakes by uploading their images and picking the size of style they’d like. From here, the company uses a newfangled process to enlarge the image and burn it onto the surface.

In an age of digital photography, it’s really cool to see how companies like Digital Tintypes are helping to bring back old practices and encourage new generations to remember how things were done in yesteryear.
