With its glowing features, the ‘Deep Ocean’ Display by External Reference Architects is an otherworldly installation.

‘Deep Ocean’ is a part of the Spanish pavilion at the Yeosu Expo 2012 in South Korea, following the theme for this year: The Living Ocean and Coast: Diversity of Resources and Sustainable Activities. This installation is composed of various test tubes that contained ocean water from 5000m below sea level. The tubes were then illuminated and complemented with a video display by OnionLab.

The interactive nature of this installation is seen as the lights, sound and video react to the presence of viewers in a mesmerizing show that harmonizes technology and art. With its mesmerizing qualities, this display is a show of sublime talent, and a great awareness tool.
