Artist David Mach has found a way to turn matchsticks into beautiful works of art. His matchstick sculptures take on the form of revolutionary leaders, animals and even religious deities.
David Mach uses thousands of colored matches imported from Japan to construct his sculptures. He sells the finished products for anywhere from $30,000 to $52,000. The ones he can’t sell he simply sets on fire.
