The latest in democratized, crowdsourced fashion design is a site called Cut On Your Bias, which invites consumers into the design process by allowing them to customize designs to their liking and vote on their favorite design combinations.
With Cut On Your Bias, you can browse through different clothing designs after logging in with Facebook, and vote on the styles you like best. Then, you can change up the designs you like by altering their size, silhouette, color and more. Your altered design will be put up for voting, and the combination that gets the most votes will be made (in limited production) for pre-order. The process happens on a weekly basis, so that designs you can vote on one week will change with each week.
As the CEO of Cut On Your Bias Louis Monoyudis explains, “Cut On Your Bias allows customers to enter the design studios of their favorite brands and interact in a way that has never before been allowed. By allowing customers to voice their opinions and create a fun and exciting interface for doing so, we foster a dynamic dialogue.”
