Joy the Baker’s ‘Cranberry Brie Grilled Cheese’ blog entry does an upscale remix of standard grilled cheese recipes. Though the sandwich has been known to commonly use of cheddar cheese only, the post does an upscale update with a gooey brie.
For this Cranberry Brie Grilled Cheese, Joy used fresh bread and a sweet cranberry sauce. A spicy mustard added an unlikely element, allowing the snack to take on a bite that is often missing from cheesy meals. Described as a “smash-and-smear situation,” she did not have to do much when slapping the slices of toast together.
As she made this treat after the Thanksgiving season, she already had many of the ingredients. And while she does call for a non-stick skillet, one can heat up this concoction in a variety of ways.
