Utilizing ombre rainbow motifs, Couleurs de L’ombre by Hiroshi Sugimoto inspired a scarf collection for Hermes.
The iconic french pashmina by Hermes gets a contemporary ombre update with the work of Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto. With its iconic branding, the luxury good is reinvented with these 140 limited edition creations. Suspended from the ceiling, the scarves double as art installations as their silk is printed with color rainbows.
The gradient characteristics of these designs were inspired by the ‘Colours of Shadow’ exhibition. Sigimoto’s installations then consisted of Polaroid images that were used to create these gradient silk scarves. These luxury pieces are part of the ‘Carré d’artiste’ art series and will be showcased at the Hermes gallery in Tokyo.
