Cloudscape by Christopher Lavery Addresses Relationship with Heavens

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Jun 18, 13
{SummaryTitle}

At once play and majestic, Cloudscape by Christopher Lavery, an artist born in Farmington, New York, and based in Murray, Kentucky, appears to be the work of a child genius hoping to replicate the look of real clouds. Made out of metal, the cumulus forms are propped high onto different sized stands that would capture anyone’s attention.

Lighting up at night for a stunning display, Cloudscape by Christopher Lavery is more than a series of sculptures. It addresses people’s relationship with the sky, “how a cloud is a talisman or connector: nature’s billboard, ephemerally reminding us to look up and inward,” as observed by Beautiful Decay. The highest structure standing 42 feet above ground, it is located at Pena Boulevard in Denver, Colorado.
