Strange Seed Closeup Portaits
Svjetlana Tepavcevic Shows the Weirdness and Beauty of Nature

It’s a tired old chestnut (pun intended), but there really is beauty to be found in the smallest things—Svjetlana Tepavcevic aims to show this with her gallery of extreme closeups of seeds of every kind. The images themselves were created with a flatbed scanner, and are part of a project called Means of Reproduction.
The goal of the project is to show the complexity that can be found in even the smallest things in nature. To add to the message, Tepavcevic likes to show off the images in massive, 5 foot-long prints. To me, most of these closeups of seeds look exotic and unfamiliar enough that they could be objects of importance in a good fantasy or sci-fi yarn.
