The Chop-Syc by Siobhan Andrews, a Sustainable Product Design student at Falmouth University, brings a helpful level of tech savviness into the kitchen space. It is essentially a digital cutting boards that connects to smartphones and tablets via Wi-Fi. By doing so, it allows cooks to search for recipes, cooking techniques, portion sizes and more while they are already in the midst of whipping up a meal.
When not in use, Chop-Syc by Siobhan Andrews looks like a regular wooden chopping board. Nevertheless, it is made out of scratch-proof glass and can be powered up by placing it on a rechargeable mat. The exciting design was the winner of the #GetItDownOnPaper competition by Sharp Laboratories of Europe, which awarded Andrews a two-month paid internship at Sharp Labs.
