Disc-Assembled Critters
These CD Animal Sculptures are Cute and Crafty

By: Harris Jay Rosenberg Alterman (Star) Feb 20, 12

This cute collection of CD animal sculptures represents a perfect example of what to do with discarded audio disks from the past. These music-made creations were designed by deviantARTist Sean Avery, and his whole collection is available in his gallery.

Avery’s decision to incorporate birds in his sculptures was a fantastic idea because the feathers turned out shiny and amazing. The shimmering blue coloring of the bird makes it seem like the bird is some sort of ice phoenix that has escaped from Narnia. All of the animals appear extremely delicate, as if a single touch would make them shatter.

Don’t let those old Cher CDs go to waste. Do what Sean Avery did and make some CD animal sculptures instead of letting the discs sit around on a shelf.
