Electric Camouflage Collections
The Carven Spring 2014 Collection's Camouflage is Not So Subtle

By: Emilie Picillo (Superstar) Oct 21, 13

The Carven Spring 2014 Collection turns camouflage and feminine patterns inside out. Camouflage is typically used for blending in but Carven makes it stand out in bright neon colors of fuchsia, pastel green and navy blue. The collection is a series of overcoats, mini dresses, cropped jackets and skirts, also featuring more subtle items such as black dresses and small floral patterns.

Carven’s florals depict tumbling roses fused with brightly colored gingham checks and camouflage appliqué. I love the combination of pattern and materials in the most dynamic ways, like swirly cut gingham checks applied across the waist and lace trim that lines cropped tops. The collection has an interesting take on spring fashions with a girly yet punky underbelly. Femininity is balanced with black lace chokers, thick eyeliner and understated hair.
