DIY Grecian Jewelry
The 'Braided Hex Nut Bracelet' is Inexpensive and Effortless

By: Jordy Eleni (Superstar) Sep 20, 12

Honestly WTF’s ‘DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet’ plays up on Grecian jewelry design. The gold bolts strewn together in the post are reminiscent of laurel and myrtle-clad wreaths, worn notoriously on the heads of the ancient Greeks.

The DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet was inspired by designer Philip Crangi’s ‘Giles & Brother Hex Collection.’ The Crangi pieces made use of small gilded nuts, inspiring Honestly WTF to take on a similar production method.

Butcher’s twine and brass hex nuts provide the foundation for these bands. The pegs are tied on to the three hanging strings in a braided formation, giving way to an elegant yet rustic look. Colorful studs or gems can be substituted in, though one would probably have the most success with deadbolts taken from a tool shed.
