Bizarre Embedded Chairs
The Blue Table Integrates a Set of Seemingly Implanted Seating

By: Amelia Roblin (Superstar) Aug 3, 12
{SummaryTitle}

Stare at the Blue Table for long enough and you might manage to figure out how it works. More likely, however, you’ll have to approach it and pull out one of its apparently imbedded chairs to discover that one could in fact take a seat.

From a distance, this LensAss Architecten piece looks like a solid rectangular prism with a row of eclectic wooden dining chairs lodged into its long sides. Painted white like the dining table, they appear to be cut off just a couple of inches into the seat beyond their backrests.

Quite unexpectedly, the peculiar half-perches are merely decorative backings. They’re connected to boxier chairs hidden behind the separate rectangular panels of the false continuous face of the Blue Table.
