Black Light by Diana Dumitrescu Challenges Fixtures' Expected Features

Where some of the usual descriptors of lamps include bright, light, diffuse and soft, the Black Light by Diana Dumitrescu asserts itself in a contrasting manner. The designer wished to shift the way that such a common object is perceived in order to gain it more attention and broaden the idea of a light fixture.
The most obvious and curious characteristic of this collection of standing and pendant lamps is the black lightbulbs. Quite contrary to the ordinary white and yellow-tinted globes, these incandescents dull the glow that their inner mechanisms emit.
To accent the peculiar items further, each Black Light by Diana Dumitrescu is made into a sort of sculpture. One version is enhanced with an atomic-looking structure of sticks while another model comprises a cluster of outward-facing bulbs.
