Perforated Partition Bike Locks
The Bicycle Rack & Lock Accommodates Fixed Storage and Security

By: Amelia Roblin (Superstar) Jan 14, 13

What if public bike racks provided cyclists with more than a pole to which to tether their two-wheelers? You might end up with something like the Bicycle Rack & Lock. This intriguing idea offers a broad area for leaning your pedaled conveyance that doesn’t require confusing loops or too long a cable.

Dadam Design Associates’ Young Ko and Byungchul Choi conceived what is essentially a strong sheet of metal that can be installed against walls, up staircase rails and around piers. The surface is speckled with evenly spaced openings that fit the tips of specialized cable locks.

As part of the Ssangyong-manufactured Bicycle Rack & Lock, the cord has one combination lock on both ends. After feeding it through your wheels and frame, the two points can be fastened into the two most convenient holes in the panel.
