By: Amelia Roblin (Superstar) Jan 11, 13
{SummaryTitle}

Properly comprehending what a someone is saying is difficult enough with model ears and eyes, it can be even more challenging when someone with a hearing impairment tries to speak with somebody who is unfamiliar with sign language. The Beethoven Phone aims to eliminate the barrier in these sorts of situations, offering plenty of potential for improving communication between people with different abilities and disabilities.

Jong Soo Kim’s invention allows you to talk or type into it and it will either speak or text your sentence for your companion to hear or see. The two parts of the exchange appear printed on either side of the transparent LCD screen. This way, both parties can read questions and responses if the visual method is their most helpful means to use the Beethoven Phone effectively.
