The 'Walls to the People' Smartphone App Shows Graffitied Landmarks

Imagine the Statue of Liberty or the Pyramids of Egypt covered in graffiti tags. Got the picture? Well, that was what happened when a graffitied image of the Fundação Serralves building—a well-knowned cultural institution in Oporto, Portugal—started circulating in the Internet. The images were nothing more than a prank though, and the tags didn’t scathe the building in real life.

‘Walls to the People’ is the name of João Paulo Feliciano’s app for smartphones. This app allows users to see what the Fundação Serralves building would like if it were to be defaced using augmented reality. This prank is a unique joke and an interesting play on human perception.
