Audio-Streaming Sports Bar Apps
The Audioair App Adds Sound to Silenced TVs

Here’s hoping that sports bars around the country become Audioair app-friendly sooner, rather than later. The app is designed to let bar patrons listen to television audio through their smartphones. If you’ve ever even stepped foot into a sports bar, you know that the TVs are traditionally muted. The Audioair app works with an accompanying system, one which needs to be installed inside the venue, to work around this problem.

Certain restaurants offer audio boxes to stream sound from televisions, but these boxes are often in high demand. The Audioair app lets you choose which channel you want to listen to and offers you points for checking in; these points can be redeemed at the bar you’re at. Airborne, the company behind the app, has already raised $3 million in funding and plans to increase the availability of Audioair from 50 U.S. locations to 800 by year’s end.
