Reflective Eyeball Sculptures
The Architect's Eye Installation Mirrors its Stunning Surroundings

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Apr 24, 12
{SummaryTitle}

Part of this year’s Interni Legacy event at Milan Design Week, the Architect’s Eye sculpture keeps a close eye on all of the visitors in attendance. Its smooth, spherical surface and realistic iris may mimic the human eye, but that is where the similarities end. Not only is the Architect’s Eye installation much larger than a real eye, it is made out of stainless steel that has been polished so well, it crisply reflects its surroundings. By doing so, it celebrates the architecture around it.

Designed by Moscow-based architecture firm SPeeCH Tchoban & Kuznetsov, the Architect’s Eye sculpture is a high-tech creation that shifts its gaze from the sky to the ground, with pupils effectively dilating and contracting just like a real eye. The iris also has the captivating ability to change color.
