Illuminated Sphere Cloud Sculptures
WHITEvoid's 'Fluidic' Immerses Crowds in a Laser-Fueled Show

{SummaryTitle}

With 12,000 spheres suspended over water on 4,100 threads, WHITEvoid has created an amorphous cloud sculpture that interacts with its viewers. The installation uses laser projectors that surround the sphere cloud. The lasers are used to create dynamic designs on the free floating balls.

Installed in three weeks at Milan’s Temporary Museum for New Design, the piece uses Microsoft Kinect sensors to detect visitor movement. Spectators are given the chance to control lasers around the amorphous cloud sculpture with their actions.

This dynamic sculpture plays on light projected on the sphere cloud to create some interesting effects. The addition of viewer interaction and control creates a truly immersive environment that draws visitors in. With the sculpture hovering over a pool of water, the scene is given a surreal effect.
