The Akris Spring 2014 Collection takes a page out of summer’s book by fusing together mineral stones with classic safari patterns. Creative director Albert Kriemler fantasizes over the similar qualities that these two prints share, which are veiny and earthy elements.
The results of this fusion are gold metallic zebra prints and asymmetrical linear patterns featured in gray, beige and camel ombre tones. Windblown sandstone and granite create graphic displays on cotton and double-faced wool. Wave mesh patterns are featured on some skin-revealing pieces and each model is topped with elongated bucket hats. The vision behind this collection is ingenious because the qualities of minerals and animal prints fuse together seamlessly. Overall it takes an exclusive summer look and turns it into something completely new.
