By: John Ibbitson (Star) Dec 30, 11

After admiring the beauty of tree branches above him on a winter hiking trip, 13-year-old Aidan Dwyer noticed that branches grow in a spiral pattern and wondered if this was vital to the way that trees collect and store sunlight. Through his research, which Aidan shares with his audience during this speech, he was able to come up with a new, more efficient model for solar power collection.  It is the goal of Aidan Dwyer that with continued research, he will be able to be part of the solution for building a greener tomorrow.
