Creative director Jonny Johansson takes the Acne Spring 2014 Collection in a different direction, with oversized waist belts, shades of cream, deconstructed ensembles and strapping and dissected lines. Sagging slashed leathers are also featured in this collection, but the staple one would say is the cropped fringe hair styles and bold brows on each of the models. Some of these qualities even translate to the garments themselves.
These hairstyles give this collection an innate youthful appeal especially when incorporated with sportswear staples and crinkled jackets. Other pieces featured in this collection are chunky white rubber soled footwear and embroidered shorts. The collection is relaxed, dewy and metallic, which gives it a rebellious nature. These attributes also deem Acne’s collection wearable, however with new-found inspirations, it incorporates conceptual runway qualities as well. I enjoy how this collection alternates between urban and the imaginative.
