The Acme UN Memorial Building Metaphorically Unites Nations

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Oct 8, 09

Architecture is getting sweeter by the minute, especially with the addition of this Acme UN Memorial Building. Although their design only made third place (so it probably won’t see the light of day) in the South Korean competition, it is still pretty impressive.

With a 1,500 seating assembly, two conference halls, a theatre
and exhibition space, the Acme UN Memorial Building was inspired by the actual UN organization. Accordin to Designboom.com, “The UN is formed by individual nations, and as a metaphor acme designed a cube comprised of smaller cells which come together forming the final shape.”
