This video launch is part two to ‘Rebel’ by James Franco, an adaptation to James Dean’s 1955 film ‘Rebel Without a Cause.’

This is a film by Matt Black and the two-part expose demonstrates how Franco attempts to seek out the mythology around the great James Dean. This interesting series is an art exhibition showcased at Los Angeles’ MOCA. In part two, Franco continues to explore the myths dealing with ‘Rebel Without a Cause,’ revealing parts about his interpretation of the film that lean towards the artsy side.

Franco talks about the iconic fight scenes in the film and how he works to actualize the action. This adaptation is a twisted version dealing with teenage rebellion where viewers are able to see naked women in gang brawls swinging machetes with fiery. ‘Rebel’ by James Franco is an expose with a perspective that’s not mainstream.
