Instantaneous 3D Photography
Japan Displays the World’s First 3D Photo Booth

By: Elise Ying-Hei Ho (Star) Nov 12, 12
{SummaryTitle}

Installed at the Eye Of Gyre gallery in Harajuku, Tokyo is the world’s first 3D photo booth.

Up until January 24, 2013, visitors of the gallery can enter the 3D photo booth, also known as Omote 3D Shashin Can, and have their photos printed as 3D characters. The booth is able to print a mini replica of its visitors in three different sizes: 10, 20 and 30 centimeters. There aren’t really many restrictions for 3D printing these days so users should not hold back on their creativity for poses and facial expressions for these figurines.

Unfortunately, due to the high popularity of this item and its limited display, appointments must be made on its website prior to visiting. Depending on the size, each figurine can cost from $260 to $530.
