China is set to be the next super power - while many of us assume that China is, as an editorial in the state-controlled People’s Daily newspaper says, “China, a cultural fountainhead that has become an assembly plant.” But no longer, as a China Cultural Revolution is underway. The goverment is proposing to expand funding for art galleries and museums with 1,000 new buidings slated for 2015. The China Cultural Revolution is changing tourist attraction and urban landscapes. Along with China’s traditional cultural draws, like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, new art districts like 798 have become a high ranking tourist draw.
