This electronic cooker and grower called ‘Cocoon’ can create meat and fish, and won first place in the Electrolux Design Lab 2009 competition. The machine works by using pre-mixed muscle cells and nutrients to create meat without harming a single animal. With this technology, we can also lessen the effect of global warming as the meat industry is a large contributor of green house gasses.
The technology, which was developed by Rickard Hederstierna, also allows for meat and fish to be made without any contamination. No contamination means that it may be possible for pork sashimi. Though the technology here sounds amazing, I just can’t bring myself to imagine eating meat that comes from a machine.
