The Superbowl has long been known for great commercials. Sometimes they were the best part of the game. This year marked a historic occasion: the 25th anniversary of Apple/Macs first Superbowl ad.
Mac has always gone above and beyond the typical Superbowl ad, and judging by the $1.5 million price tag of this one from 1984, spares no expense. It was directed by Ridely Scott the director of Alien and Blade Runner and used effects years ahead of it’s time. It was an ad to launch the new Macintosh computer, but what it did was redefine the Superbowl ad culture. So hats off to Steve Jobs and the gang!
