Cute Construction Equipment

The Eddy Excavator is Small But Mighty

— December 21, 2008 — Autos
In a previous (construction) life, I would have loved to have one of these. The typical excavation equipment that is generally available is not only cumbersome but difficult to maneuver. The “Eddy” excavator is remotely operated and uses suction to remove debris and pump it out the rear. The small size of the "Eddy" excavator allows it to navigate through tight spots. This great invention is the brainchild of Maciej Puzon of 3Kant.

Implications - The world of construction is no longer the professional, male-dominated industry it used to be. Today, carpentry and contracting can be accomplished by anyone with some free time and so the good's offered in the market should compliment that reality. Ultimately, consumers will rally around the suppliers who invest in easy-to-use, safe power tools.
Trend Themes
1. Remote-controlled Excavation Equipment - Innovation opportunity lies in developing more remotely operated excavation equipment that is small, easily maneuverable and uses suction to remove debris.
2. Compact Construction Equipment - Brands can invest in creating small, easy-to-navigate construction equipment that can work in tight spaces and can appeal to a wider range of consumers.
3. User-friendly Power Tools - Entrepreneurs can focus on creating power tools that are easy to use, ensuring safety for consumers and adding value in a market that is no longer just professional.
Industry Implications
1. Construction Industry - Companies can invest in the development of remote-controlled, small-sized excavation equipment to satisfy consumers' need for easy-to-use tools while working within tight spaces.
2. Power Tool Manufacturing Industry - The power tool manufacturing industry can create user-friendly power tools that are safe and easy-to-use, particularly for consumers who are not professionals but want to work on projects in their free time.
3. Contracting Industry - Contracting companies can focus on offering compact construction equipment that is easy to navigate and maneuver within tight spaces, appealing to a wider range of consumers who want to tackle projects on their own.
