Body-Contorting Commercials

Volkswagen Contortionist Humorously Advertises the Park Assist Feature

Known for its small cars, like the Beetle, this German car company pokes fun at themselves in this Volkswagen Contortionist commercial. Designed and conceived by ad agency DDB Mexico, the TV spot features a young man in a doctor's office. He is told to have a seat while he waits, but only one spot is still available in the full waiting room. A woman quickly sits down and he is presented with only one other option: a square space in a cabinet. Rather than stand, he contorts his body to fit into it.

The Volkswagen Contortionist commercial advertises their new parking assist feature. Copywriter and art director Aldo Ramirez crafted a clever line, which reads "There are no complicated spots. Park Assist by Volkswagen." Creative directors Fernando Quirez and Auber Romero with photographer Juan Salvarredy and post production Ximena Clavelli were also on the project.
