After losing his father to an unexpected death, New York-based photographer Mike Mellia takes to the city for therapy and remembrance in his cinematic NYC photo series.
In his ‘Another Day in Paradise’ series, the photographer rummages through the city to capture images that remind him of his father, pay homage to the places he went to and the things he loved about his hometown. Doing a beautiful job at capturing the essence of the city, the cinematic NYC photo series has a subtle sadness to it even though the images themselves are not necessarily somber. The reminiscent series acts like an eternal bond between father and son and a portrait of Mellia’s father that will never age.
