The National 9/11 Memorial Museum not only showcases artifacts from the tragic day, but it also sells memorabilia in its gift shop that is quite outlandish. Usually gift shops sell t-shirts and mugs, but the museum is taking memorabilia in a new direction with this 9/11-memorializing cheese plate.
The cheese platter is a ceramic off-white plate that is shaped like the United States. It is quite plain, until you realize it has three small red hearts painted on it that pinpoint the locations that were targeted by terrorists on the dreadful date of September 11th 2001.
Since its opening last week, the National 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York has been deemed offensive by some visitors --especially by those who lost family members that day.
