HMV is opening a new underground live music venue for people to enjoy. The Young and Dundas location in Toronto is going to be the new home of the music retailer's first live music venue in the country. The construction has already been completed at the basement of the HMV 333 Yonge St location.
The first show will feature Canadian classical guitarist Michael Kolk and it will be held on Saturday at 2pm. Nick Williams is the president and CEO of HMV Canada and he said that "As the home of entertainment, we strive to offer customers new ways to consume music and entertainment."
Scheduled acts include The Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle on May 7, Manchester Orchestra on May 19 and different local Jazz musicians during the TD Toronto Jazz Festival in June. Local and emerging artists will have the opportunity to host the venue, as well as well-established national musicians.
