Peter Marigold Creates the Jib Stool for Kvadrat

During Milan Design Week, Peter Marigold created the Jib Stool for Kvadrat, a company that had 22 artists participate using its Divina textile fabric.
The fabric was slightly tricky to bring together along the seams. According to the artist, "one of the challenges of working with the divina wool is its density which can look very bulky or lumpy along seams if applied as upholstery." Because of this, he made the legs of the stool extend beautifully into the seating part of the design. Using four different colors, Peter Marigold also made this top section appear as if it was done in four separate blocks, which makes for an interesting addition to a regular stool.
This project makes one realize the potential of artists and people when forced to use a specific item that challenges the conventional methods of their craft.
