Richard Serra Adjusts the Brouq Nature Reserve with Steel

Desert topography can be extremely stunning when it's first looked at, but after a while it can become quite monotonous, so Richard Serra decided to add an extra touch with his latest installation. Commissioned by the Quatar Museums Authority, the structure consists of four steel beams sticking straight up in the air in the middle of the desert.
Because the general area is so flat, it's easy to see all four pillars from a ways away. The towers themselves are situated about a kilometer apart from each other, but even standing at the very first steel structure, one can still just see the last one over four km away.
The installation is titled East-West/West-East, and it's one of the many works done by Richard Serra. Hopefully the talented artist will be commissioned for more of these seemingly random exhibits in the future.
