In honor of their centennial anniversary, GM released two top-10 lists: their top 10 production cars of the last century and their top concept cars.
These concept cars may not all have reached mass production, but the new technologies they showcased were an important factor in the development of cars at the time. As with the top ten production car list, it's worth noting that a good deal of the cars on GM's list weren't under the GM umbrella when they were built.
Here are the concept cars, in order:
1. 1938 Buick Y-Job
2. 1951 GM LeSabre
3. 1961 Chevrolet XP755 Mako Shark
4. 1965 Experimental Opel GT
5. GM Firebird Concepts
6. 1970 Vauxhall SRV
7. 1987 GM Sunraycer
8. 1990 GM Impact
9. 2002 GM AUTOnomy
10. 2007 Chevrolet Volt
