'Paper Productions' Lampshades are Made in a Traditional Indian Paper Factory

'Paper Productions' is a collection of handcrafted paper lampshades, which is the the result of a collaboration between German designer Pia Wustenberg and artisans in Ahmedabad, India.
Wuestenberg spent six weeks working at the Khalamkush Paper Factory in Ahmedabad, a facility that uses traditional paper-making techniques to make paper pulp from cotton rags. The factory is self-sufficient in that the entire paper-making process right from forging the materials to pressing and processing finished paper is done there.
The lampshades were made by draping paper on various objects obtained from Ahmedabad's traditional bazaars. The result is a collection of delicate, lightweight lampshades. Some lampshades consist of the paper mold alone, while others are equipped with additional wire ornaments and small LED lights.
The softness of the lights and the manner in which they are positioned makes the lit lamps look like jellyfish floating underwater.
